Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Social Justice (DEISJ)

Welcome to the VSCS Libraries' DEISJ Topic Guide!

This guide aims to provide valuable resources and some guidance on researching diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice topics.  As we continue to add resources and highlight diverse identities, related concepts, and teaching resources, we encourage you to submit feedback and suggestions by emailing libraries@vsc.edu.

DEISJ in the VSCS Libraries

At the VSCS Libraries, we are committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice. We acknowledge the inequities in our community and are taking actionable steps to address them. Our efforts include:

  • Monthly DEISJ discussions for library staff

  • Exploring the intersection of DEISJ and information literacy

  • Intentional collection management

  • Print and Digital Book displays related to DEISJ

  • Promoting accessibility and universal access

As the VSCS Libraries, we will continuously reflect on and revisit our efforts to improve inclusivity and ensure that voices from all perspectives are heard and respected.

For additional information about DEISJ in our system, please see the following diversity statement.
