To vote in Vermont, you must be:
Military members and overseas voters whose last residence was in Vermont maintain their eligibility.
If you are registering to vote for the first time in Vermont online or by mail, you must include a photocopy of an acceptable form of ID. Acceptable forms of ID include:
No photocopy of ID is required when a person registers through a state agency or through a voter registration drive.
The voter registration form requires your Vermont DMV-issued driver's license number or Personal ID number (VT PID#) or the last four digits of your Social Security number (SSN).

Out-of-state college students who meet other eligibility requirements can vote in Vermont if they consider Vermont to be their primary residence, or they can request absentee ballots from their home state.
Vermont Secretary of State's Office introduced an accessible voting system in 2018. The tablet-based system offers physical ballot marking and online ballot marking to ensure the privacy and independence of the vote for voters with disabilities.
