According to the U.S. Department of Labor, you will change jobs an average of 12 times during your lifetime. Even if you are not applying for a job right now, the ability to write a strong, targeted resume will allow you to meet life's, and the job market's, changing needs.

In a functional resume, experience is grouped by skill rather than position. If you have no work experience, you may draw on skills learned in volunteer work, school, or extracurricular activities.
