Understanding Plagiarism

For research papers, the interpretation of ideas and facts is not the same as your personal opinion. When you present part of an argument, you are using sources to support that argument. Therefore, you need to cite the sources but not your own analysis of those sources.

If you are writing a reflective essay or paper, your own viewpoint is a part of the assignment and doesn't require citation.
